Deborah Y. Strauss D.V.M is a highly experienced veterinarian based in the greater Cedar Rapids area. She runs a vaccination and wellness clinic in Marion, Iowa, where she works to provide high-quality care for animals at affordable prices. Deborah is also one of the only veterinarians in all of Iowa who treats animals with chemotherapy, specializing in feline and canine lymphosarcoma with a 75% success rate.
Deborah Y. Strauss always had a unique bond with animals growing up, and dreamt about becoming a future veterinarian from an early age. She was surrounded by dogs and cats growing up, and was given her first horse when she was just eleven. Deborah later went to school at Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, where she received a dual degree in Biology and Art. She later attended Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Ames, Iowa, where she studied to become a veterinarian.
Her expertise stretched far and beyond the basic necessities of a veterinarian. Deborah Y. Strauss D.V.M treats both dogs and cats with cancer, practices equine ophthalmology and equine recurrent uveitis, and works with other animals, such as rodents and goats, to provide them with the best care possible. Deborah Strauss also specializes in euthanization house calls, allowing pets the chance to die peacefully in their own homes surrounded by their loved ones.
Over the years, Deborah Y. Strauss D.V.M has served as proof that passion, dedication, and hard work are the keys to creating the foundation for a successful and meaningful career! Having grown up with multiple animals in her household Deborah was set up at an early age for her career path. Being surrounded by dogs, cats, and her first horse around the age of eleven, she was able to set her goals early. At a young age, she dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. After years of hard work, that dream finally came true!
Deborah Y. Strauss D.V.M continues to dedicate her time to her passion for animals to this day. She is able to work as an experienced veterinarian in Iowa, where she exemplifies the joy of life that comes from loving what you do. After 22 years as self-employed a Veterinary, she can’t imagine doing anything else with her life or career. As time goes on she hopes to continue providing the best care possible for any animal that comes into her life.
